Nevada ELAD Application
Match the ELAD Course Map Before Applying in OPAL
Nevada’s ELAD requirements attach to a qualifying base license. The endorsement's grade level follows that license; the published course map requires 12 semester credits in total, including a practicum with at least 25 classroom hours.
- Confirm your base license and grade level. Choose either the elementary or secondary English learner policies course that fits the work you intend to do.
- Map three credits each in language acquisition, teaching methods and curriculum, and assessment; add two policy credits and the one-credit practicum.
- Gather official transcripts and practicum documentation, then submit the endorsement application through Nevada’s OPAL portal.
A general teaching-experience waiver is not the published ELAD practicum rule. Ask Nevada's licensure office to evaluate any alternative evidence before relying on it.
