Short version: we collect as little as possible, we do not sell it, and you can have it deleted.
What we collect
- Contact submissions: your name, email address, the type of person or organization you represent, optional organization, subject, message, consent record, submission time, and email-delivery status.
- Analytics, if you allow it: page views and important interactions such as school referrals, directory filters, contact-form outcomes, tool use, language changes, downloads, and phone or email link clicks. This includes ordinary browser, device, approximate location, and referral information processed by Google Analytics.
- No account is required to use this site. Please do not send passport, financial, health, or other sensitive information through the contact form.
The tools on this site
The visa checker and cost calculator run in your browser. We do not send the amounts, passport country, hours, or other values you enter to Google Analytics. If you allow analytics, we record only that a tool was used or completed and, for the visa checker, the broad guidance outcome displayed. Tool inputs are not stored.
What we never do
We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not pass your details to schools or agents without you asking us to. No data from any previous operator of this domain has been acquired or used.
Your rights
Under GDPR (Europe), APPI (Japan) and PIPA (South Korea) you can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email privacy@applyesl.com and we will act within 30 days.
Cookies
We use no advertising cookies or social-media pixels. Google Analytics loads only after you select “Allow analytics” and may then store analytics cookies on your device. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled. If you decline, Google Analytics does not load. Your analytics choice and light or dark theme preference are stored in your browser. You can change the analytics choice from the site footer.
The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile as a strictly necessary security check. Turnstile processes browser, device, and network information to distinguish people from automated abuse.
How long we keep things
Contact submissions and their delivery records are kept until you ask us to delete them, or for two years after submission, whichever comes first. An automated daily retention task removes expired records.
Other companies involved
- Typefaces are served from this site. They used to come from Google Fonts, which meant every page load sent your IP address to Google before you had asked for anything. The font files are hosted here now, so that request no longer happens.
- Cloudflare provides hosting, submission storage, delivery queues, and contact-form abuse protection.Cloudflare receives ordinary request information and processes the information needed to store and route a contact submission. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Resend delivers contact emails. It receives the contact details and message needed to send our notification and your receipt. See Resend's privacy policy.
- Google Analytics measures site use after consent. Google receives the analytics information described above. We use measurement ID G-BJ02GQSBD1, disable advertising personalization and Google signals, and do not send contact names, addresses, messages, or tool input values. See Google's privacy policy.
- We use no advertising networks, social media pixels, or session recording.
When you leave for a school's website
Links to the programs we list carry a parameter identifying ApplyESL as the source of the visit, and your browser sends the address of the page you came from. That tells the school we referred you. It tells them nothing about you personally, not your name, not your email, and nothing you entered into the tools on this site. Once you are on their site you are subject to their privacy policy, not ours.
Children
This site is written for adults choosing a course. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us something, email us and we will delete it.
Who is responsible
The data controller is Rupe Enterprises LLC, a limited liability company formed in the State of Washington, United States, which operates ApplyESL. It is operated independently and is not a continuation of any previous operator of this domain. No student records, inquiries or personal data from any previous site have been acquired, received or used, and we would not accept them if offered.
