Dear Takeo,

There are a number of different types of schools that you should consider before you apply. Generally speaking, schools can be divided into three categories; university-based ESL program, private English school and private English school located on a university campus. These three categories can further be divided into two categories; university-based programs and private English school programs. Both types of programs may have advantages or disadvantages depending on your study abroad goals. Although both types of programs can be of the same quality, each may offer merits which the other doesn’t. If your intent is to study at a university in a degree program, you may want to take an English course there. If you just want to study English and then go home, a private English school may offer more flexibility and value.
