Housing Arrangements
I’m thinking about where I should live when I am abroad. I’m not sure if I should stay in the university dorm or a homestay. What is the difference? From Gabriela
Dear Gabriela,
Thank you for your question!
Housing is a very important decision for students who are studying abroad. Since you will be spending a lot of time wherever you choose to live, understand the options that may be available to you. Some students prefer to stay on-campus in order to take advantage of what the school may have to offer and other facilities. Homestay may be attractive to you if you want a “home away from home” atmosphere and a chance to practice your English in a friendly environment. Others may choose to live off-campus for more privacy and freedom to live where and how they wish. Be sure to think carefully about all of the options and choose the one best for you.
