  • ALI instructors are highly qualified professionals with many years of experience teaching English to students from all over the world. Most instructors hold a masters degree in TESOL, TESL, Linguistics, English or a closely related field, have lived and traveled abroad and also speak a second or third language. Instructors care deeply about their students and are committed to their academic and personal success.

  • ALI provides students with the opportunity to live in off-campus residences or enjoy a homestay experience. For students who prefer an independent lifestyle, off-campus residences provide more independence and offer opportunities to interact with people in the community outside the school environment. The school also arranges homestays for those students who want to experience local culture first-hand as a member of a family and practice their conversational English. Students are encouraged to make their housing arrangements as early as possible due to the limited amount of space available. Private off-campus shared apartments can also be arranged in shared apartments and shared rooms similar to a dorm; for other more private apartments students must make their own arrangements.   • PROGRAM CURRICULUM HIGHLIGHTS
    - Learn from faculty with graduate degrees who facilitate communication in English with confidence, and focus on progress in the four main skills paired into: Listening & Speaking / Reading and Writing
    - Interact with native Speakers, communicate with and improve your knowledge of American culture by consistent exchange between ALI and AU students, as well as other English speakers outside the classroom supported by faculty and staff
    - Use Burlington English interactive software to personalize learning through a wide array of social and professional lessons
    - Observe AU classes to improve business knowledge, practical English, and communication skills with focus on American and international business practices and theories
    - Interact with International degree program business students. Advanced students can talk with people from all around the world
    - Experience networking and AU Business Club meetings and events with Miami professionals and AU business students
    - Transition into AU academic programs without TOEFL or IELTS scores if you meet the English proficiency and all AU academic requirements for undergraduate and graduate programs
