    • About the ESL Program
    • GT Educational Center (GT) offer ESL courses for a total of eight levels (Low Beginner to Advanced Plus). The first seven levels focus on General English skills. Each class is a well-balanced mixture of reading, writing, listening, speaking and grammar.

      Their eighth level of classes are their Advanced Plus courses. These focus on specific skills such as Advanced Speaking, Business English, TOEFL Prep, and tons more! There are more than a dozen options at this level.

      • Homestay (2 meals per day): $1,300
      • Off-campus Residence: $890 (double room), $920 (garden suite single room), $1,490 (single room)

    • GT Educational Center is located on Michigan Avenue in the heart of downtown Chicago. The school is mere steps away from world-class museums, restaurants, and tourist attractions! They offer activities on a regular basis to encourage their students to embrace all the city has to offer. In the past the students have been to White Sox and Bulls games, taken architectural tours and river boat trips, visited museums, attended concerts and more!

Each day at the school is structured to maximize learning through a combination of traditional classroom instruction, interactive activities, and practical language application. Students can expect their mornings to typically start with focused lessons that cover the fundamentals of English grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. These sessions are conducted by experienced teachers who use a range of teaching methods including multimedia presentations, group discussions, and direct instruction to ensure that all learning styles are accommodated.

      As the day progresses, the focus shifts from theoretical to practical usage of English. Afternoons are often dedicated to language labs, role-playing scenarios, and conversation clubs which provide students with the opportunity to practice their speaking and listening skills in real-world contexts. This practical application is crucial for building confidence and fluency. Additionally, special sessions might be organized to focus on specific skills such as writing workshops or reading clubs, which delve deeper into different aspects of the language.

      Lots of student activities
      As an international student at GT Downtown Center in Chicago for a year, I have had a remarkable experience.       Highly recommended!
      I highly recommend GT Educational Center (GT)! The classes that they offer are really helpful to learn English, and all the teachers are very kind and professional. When I came to the U.S., I could barely speak English and did not have any friend at first. But now I feel my English has improved a lot and have many friends from all over the world.
