  • California Language Academy (CLA) is a boutique, family-run school with offices in Los Angeles, San Diego, and now in San Francisco! Today, CLA has a capacity for over 1,000 students and offers a range of different programs, such as General English courses, Summer for teenage students, Family packages, and more! For some programs, the school also has afternoon and evening options, and they can offer students walking-distance accommodations in all three campuses!
    
    For the ESL Courses and in all campuses, CLA offers a strong and solid General English program plus three premium electives: Business English, Exam Preparation, and Pathway to College. All the courses are available for students to choose from 12 to 27 hours per week. In addition to the ESL Courses, CLA also offers two great options for young students and families.

  • Homestay option is available in all 3 cities. Residences are available in San Francisco, and Shared Apartments are available for Los Angeles and San Diego. (All three CLA campuses have at least one walking distance accommodation option.) Students are required to fill out an applicable form to request the CLA to arrange their accommodation.

  • CLA's mission is to provide high-quality, personalized language training that you can immediately apply in the real world. CLA's General English program are taught in small and engaging classes using the student-centered learning environment.(10-12 students per class in all campus and maximum of 18) Students have the freedom to choose the course that best meets their goals and will be taught by experienced teachers that are passionate about the success of each student. The students will study all the English skill areas, including Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking.
    
    For the ESL Courses in all campuses, the school offers a strong and solid General English program plus three premium electives: Business English, Exam Preparation, and Pathway to College. All the courses are available for students to choose from 12 to 27 hours per week.
    
    CLA accepts transfer students from another SEVP-certified school and students who want to change their status to an F-1 student status as well as international students from outside the U.S. (NOTE: Not all students are eligible to change their status./CLA may require transfer/Change of Status students additional fees and/or documents in the admissions process.)
