- More Details
- Housing
- While attending the school, students have the option to live in on-campus or off-campus housing. Students living on-campus will be close to classes, campus activities, and other students – both American and international. For students who prefer a more independent lifestyle, off-campus residences provide more privacy and offer opportunities to interact with people in the community outside the campus environment. Students are encouraged to make their housing arrangements as soon as possible due to the limited amount of space available. The school may provide information about private off-campus apartments; however, it is the students’ responsibility to make their own arrangements. For more information, use the Contact Address to ask the school directly.

Intensive English Program
- Overview
- The Intensive English Program at the ESL Academy is designed to prepare international students to study at American universities. Classes are offered year-round with sessions start dates available five times a year in the spring, summer and fall. Each term runs for a period of 8 weeks. Students enrolled in the ESL Academy’s Intensive English program receive 23 hours of classroom instruction per week.
The program offers rigorous training at five levels including High Beginning, Low Intermediate, Intermediate, High Intermediate, and Advanced. Upon arrival, all students take a complete placement test during the orientation program before the start of classes. Once evaluated, students will be placed in the level most appropriate for their English skills. At the end of each 8-week term, students take final exams in each skill area. Promotion to the next level is based on a combination of the student’s grades, the teacher’s recommendation, and test scores.
Students in all levels of the Intensive English Program are required to take required Core Courses. Core Courses include Listening/Speaking, Reading/Writing, and Grammar. Students are also offered elective classes in Accent and Voice Coaching, American Culture and Criticism, Rhetoric and Logic, and Vocabulary and Spelling.
The curriculum helps students improve their overall language skills with a well-rounded program of study, campus involvement, and cultural and educational activities. In addition to mastering academic English, students will learn how to succeed academically at the University of Colorado Denver. ESL Academy graduates will be able to, among other things, write research papers appropriate for university study and present academic research to large audiences. Students who make significant progress in the program may be allowed to take one or two regular academic courses that may fulfill degree requirements at CU Denver. All students who successfully complete the ESL Academy program automatically fulfill the University’s English language proficiency requirement.
Small, interactive classes are emphasized to ensure full student participation. Class sizes range from 12-15 students and average 15 students per classroom. Every effort is made to keep classes at an ideal size for effective English language instruction. - Data

I Made a New Family HereThe best thing about the ESL Academy is that this school taught me not only a second language. This school has taught me the meaning of learning. I learned to respect, to live and overcome difficulties away from my home, my friends and my family. However, I am so lucky because I made a new family here and I will take it with me wherever I go.

Be a Great Student at the University LevelNelson Mandela said “education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world,” with that being said I must add the best thing about ESL academy is its staff. Amazing people are the main reason why ESL is so great. Each person from the specialists to the coordinators are dedicated and committed to their work, I dare to say for them is more than a job it is a calling to help people, that is why learning and developing at the ESL academy is so simple and satisfying. At the end of the road you will have learned the skills you need to be a great student at university level but also you will have created bonds of friendship and affection with remarkable people.

Learn Different Cultures, Behaviors, and LanguageESL academy is unlike other language schools I have attended. This school is a good place to learn different cultures, behaviors, and language. I make many new friends during these 2 months. The courses at this ESL Academy are different because they use “content-based” in their teaching. This method enhances and motivates me to learn in the way that I like. My time at ESL Academy is worth it.
