Greetings from California! The University of California, Davis (UC Davis) is open and excited to welcome students in person for classes. To ensure we’re ready to welcome students on campus, we have made safety our number one priority. We are following prevention best practices in alignment with state, federal and local public health guidelines, including vaccine mandates, symptom screening, asymptomatic testing, masks on campus, social distancing and limited class sizes. We also offer several remote learning options for students unable to travel for in-person learning.
From incredible weather to breath-taking landscapes and unparalleled possibilities, California has long been a desirable destination for international students. In addition, UC Davis is conveniently situated at the heart of California.
UC Davis International Programs offer cutting edge-technology, engaging students and dedicated instructors both online and on campus. At UC Davis, our students have access to a state-of-the-art facility where classes take place, all while on the campus of a progressive, top-ranked 21st-century research university where excellence and innovation are emphasized. I am very pleased to share with you the unique opportunities we offer through our full program offerings, from various 4-week short-term content-based programs to academic and linguistic pathway preparation programs. - More Details
- Housing
- International Programs helps connect students with homestay providers, on-campus housing in UC Davis residence halls (during the summer only) and nearby furnished apartments. Homestays are a good option for students who want to directly experience American culture as a member of a family. Students living in on-campus residence halls will be close to classes, campus activities and other students—both American and international. Apartments have more privacy for students who prefer a more independent lifestyle. It is best to arrange housing as early as possible due to the limited amount of space available. For more information use the Contact Address to ask the school directly.
- Surrounding Area
- Davis is a small, friendly university town where students experience campus life at a top-rated university in a safe and welcoming community. With a population of around 66,000 (more than half of whom are university students), Davis blends a rural, small-town setting with rich, cultural activities usually found in more metropolitan areas. Davis is located in Northern California —only 15 miles away from Sacramento, the state capital, and a day trip away from the beach, snowy mountains, San Francisco, Silicon Valley and six national parks. At UC Davis, students have easy access to amazing opportunities, including skiing, museums, food, wine, technology, politics, big cities or wide-open spaces. Students will also find that they don’t need a car. The Amtrak train station is near campus and bicycles are the preferred mode of transportation in this environmentally aware, fitness-conscious community. In fact, with more bicycles than people, Davis has long been known as “the bicycle capital of the United States.”
- About the College/University
- The University of California, Davis, is unique from the other branches of the greater University of California school system. Unlike some other limited branches, UC Davis offers a full range of undergraduate and graduate programs as well as professional schools of law, management and medicine. Ranked as one of the top 10 public institutions in the country, UC Davis supports research in numerous laboratories and facilities throughout the state. The UC Davis faculty is recognized worldwide for its academic and scientific achievements by the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, the College of Engineering and the College of Letters and Science. The UC Davis campus is home to more than 36,000 undergraduate and graduate students. With a strong commitment to fostering lifelong learning, the Division of Continuing and Professional Education at UC Davis, provides an international academic atmosphere where students can study Intensive English and Professional Programs.
- Conditional Admission / Credit Courses
- Students with strong English skills can take courses for credit with UC Davis undergraduate students in all fields of study through the Open Campus Program. For students who meet certain academic requirements, Conditional Admission without English eligibility requirements is available at one of the partner universities: St. Mary’s College of California, Portland State University, San Francisco State University, Fresno State University and University of the Pacific. Students also have the option to leverage the Transfer Admission Guarantee mechanism (upon successful completion of the Community College Pathway) to transfer to the University of California as third-year students.

However, the ESL classes were held in the corner of the school and the classrooms weren't as nice as I would have liked. But, I really liked the teachers and classes there and the living experence in California was wonderful. There is no better place to live in the U.S. than California!!

UC Davis CCP1.
