Warm greetings from Alabama!
The ELI is located on a beautiful, traditional university campus with a warm climate and friendly people.
ELI students have access to the university’s benefits and services. The University of Alabama (UA) has several libraries, labs, gyms, and dining halls. UA’s football, soccer, softball, and basketball teams all went to championship games during 2022-2023. Student enjoy watching the free UA sporting events.
The ELI office 20 hours of intensive English per week taught by experienced teachers with advanced degrees. The ELI also provides the following free services to students: activities, seminars, tutoring, conversation classes with UA students, and a conversation partner program.
The ELI offers elementary (CEFR A2) to advanced (CEFR C1) courses.
Small class sizes and a welcoming staff provide the students the support they need while they are abroad.

英语密集课程 (Intensive English Program)
- 课程内容
- 每学期为期8周，而每年提供6个学期，开课日在1月、3月、5月, 6月、8月和10月。每周上课时间为20-30小时，学生可使用ELI学习中心和大学部语言资源中心外，学校提供许多参加特别文化活动及旅行的机会。
课程共分为5个等级：2级（初高级）、3级（中低级）、4级（中高级）、5级（高级）、6级（进阶级）。
每天提供4小时的主要课程，包含：阅读/写作（2小时／天）、会话/听力（1小时／天）和句子结构（1小时／天）。在学习这些课程之前，学生将被分到最适合自己程度的班级，也就是说，学生可能在各项目上参与不同程度的班级。除了主要课程之外，每学期还提供多种选修课程。学生只需花少许的费用，就能参加自己想要的选修课程。选修课程的内容包含：TOEFL准备课程、发音训练、商业英语、音乐学英文、时事课程、美国文化、网络学英语或网页设计课程。

그당시 3월에 필라델피아에 있는 ESL 영어부설을 다녔는데 1달만 다니고 나머지 등록 학기는 환불받고 앨라바마로 넘어왔어요.
3년전 이맘때쯤이었는데 그때 당시 한국인이 전체 학생 중 2,3명뿐이었던걸로 기억합니다. 비율은 당시 일본의 자매결연학교에서 대다수가 수업을 들으러 와서 일본인이 거의 5-60%였구요,나머지는 멕시칸 쪽의 히스패닉과 아랍 계통 학생들이 많았어요. 중국이나 한국, 유럽 학생들이 극히 드물었었어요.
선생님들이 너무 친절하고 적극적으로 수업에 임하셔서 수업 질은 항상 만족했던걸로 기억합니다. 특히 학생당 blog를 개설해서 일주일에 3번씩 에세이를 쓰고 학생들과 리플을 달며 서로 글을 봐주고 담당 선생님도 문법이나 미국 생활에 대한 조언을 곁들여 줬던게 도움도 되고 재밌었어요.
그리고 제일 맘에 들었던건 일주일에 2번씩 앨라바마대학교 현지학생들이 볼런티어로 수업에 참여해서 2시간씩 자유롭게 대화하는 시간이 있었는데요, 항상 비슷한 수준의 어학연수생들과 대화하다가 현지미국인들과 직접 대화할 수 있어서 영어수준이 어느정도 자리잡힐 수 있었던것 같아요. 또 운이 좋았는지 친해져서 함께 현지 대학생들 파티에도 참여하고 친하게 지냈어요~
저는 기숙사 대신 바로 앞에 있는 일반 아파트에서 지냈는데요.
아파트가 당시 가격으로 한달에 300불정도 내고 지냈습니다.
다른 곳에 비해 2,3배 정도로 엄청 절약적이었어요.

大学生との交流もあるので、大学生のパーティなどに呼んでもらうことがたまにある。
滞在は寮とアパートが選択できるけど、どちらも生活用品を１からそろえる必要ある。
参加した時期は中国人、サウジアラビア人などが大半だった。その他いろいろな国からきているため、文化交流なども面白かった。
郊外なので遊べる所は少ない。

9人中8人认为“这个评价与回馈有帮助”。ゆっくりと時間が流れる南部の大学生活広大な敷地にキャンパスを構え、町まで出るにも徒歩では大変。車を持った大学生と早く友達になるのが吉。自転車もあると便利。因みに、週に１～２回、近くの大型スーパーまで買い出しに行けるバンは無料で運航。勉強は深夜まで開いている図書館で。遅くなったら電話一本で寮まで送ってくれるサービスがある。週末などはバーで楽しむのも良いし、また比較的安い値段で行かれる小旅行に参加するのも良い。教師・事務員ともに親切で好意的。ホスピタリティを感じる。但し、各種手続き、I-20に関すること、寮生活での問題など、自分の生命・滞在に直接関わるような問題は自分で責任を持って動いたほうが良い。オンキャンパスの寮に住む場合、テレビ・電子レンジはない。ルームメートと相談して何を買うか、何を共有するか決めるとお金を節約できる。

My Reading/Writing, Speaking/Listening and Structure (Grammar) instructors were very patient, helpful and have talented teaching methods that encouraged me to continue learning. The instructors offered extra help when they recognized my academic struggle and assisted with extra materials and references to help me improve.
