      Grad School Preparation
My ELA courses have helped me prepare for studying in graduate school. Great teachers have taught me beneficial academic skills such as giving a presentation, making a speech, and writing a research paper. Moreover, DePaul
offered a lot of social opportunities for connecting with undergraduate and graduate students.

      ELA is like my family!
I have been in Chicago 11 months ago and I feel that ELA is my family here. Everybody here is close to each other. When you talk to your teacher, you feel that you are talking with your big brother or your big sister. You call your teachers by their names, you laugh with them, and they are more than happy to help with anything. If you want to improve your English really fast, and you want to learn academic English skills that will help you in college or university, the best choice in my opinion is the ELA!

      Strict Rules Helpful Teachers
DePaul University English Languish Academy is an excellent program to study English. Rules in here is strict, for example, as an ELA student, you must maintain excellent attendance. If you attendance drops below 85% in any one class, you will be administratively dropped from the Academy, from the entire program.
The teachers are very helpful. They care about our feedbacks and opinions. If you have any questions, they will help you definitely. Sometimes they use their spare time help me revise my essays.

The Best ESL School in Chicago
I have been to a couple of ESL schools in Chicago, and I believe that the English Language Academy (ELA) at DePaul University is the best ESL school. The school is located in the loop, by the red line stop, so I didn’t need to walk outside when it rains or snows. I felt the building was safe. The instructors are knowledgeable and respectful. I was very happy that the course was divided into four subjects; grammar, speaking, writing, and reading. In this way, each instructor was focused on the subject they teach and this satisfied my inquisitive nature. Each class gave me a considerable amount of homework. I have to admit that it was little bit overwhelming at first. The school offers many group activities, but I did not attend that often because I had to study a lot. After staying at my school for one year, my TOEFL score met my goal. So, all my hard work was worth it! I felt the instructors and faculty were caring and willing to help me when I reach out to them. I highly recommend this school.
