Everything is up to you. If you try hard, you will get a lot of things. This school is located in a small town. So people are friendlier than in urban places. You can make native friends easily if you try. Nobody will talk to you first. You have to. This program is also good for those who want to study at Chico State or Butte Collage. The main purpose is academic education. For real English, you have to make native friends. Chico is one of the famous party schools. You can make some friends easily if you are an outgoing person.
It means if you study here, you will get a lot of good opportunities. But everything is up to you.

Good for Students Who are Preparing to Enter a University
Most students were those who were preparing to enter Chico State University or Butte College near CSU after finishing courses in ALCI. Teachers supported us writing research papers and listening to academic lectures, and I recommend this program to people who hope to enter those universities and hope to study English before entering them. Teachers were so nice. Also various activities were provided to experience American culture. It was a great opportunity to make friends from all over the world as well. It is true that many students improved their English skills through ALCI.

      Plans to Join Graduate Program
Chico is a great town, with plenty of sunshine and nice people. The ALCI teachers are very friendly and have helped me understand the American culture. I have met some new friends through ALCI. After ALCI I plan to join the graduate program in electronic engineering at Chico State. If you have the opportunity to study in the United States, ALCI Chico is the place.

      My Experience at ALCI
When I came to the United States, I only knew basic grammar. However, after finishing each session, I could understand what sentences mean and what teachers talk about. I think it's because the ALCI's teachers always made sure that every student understood everything including the meaning of the word, grammar, the concept of the article and other things. Teachers will not let up on you if you don't study hard. ALCI has several levels of classes and focuses on learning grammar, reading, writing, speaking and listening. Also, on the CSU Chico campus, there is a free tutoring center. It helped me a lot, too. If you come here to study abroad, you won't regret it.
