- More Details
- Housing
- The ELI program helps students arrange homestays, on-campus housing in UCSD dormitories (during the summer only), and in nearby fully-furnished apartments. Homestay is a good option for students who want to directly experience American culture as a member of family. Students living in on-campus dormitories will be close to classes, campus activities, and other students - both American and international. Apartments have more privacy for those students who prefer a more independent lifestyle. It is best to arrange housing as early as possible due to the limited amount of space available. For more information use the Contact Address to ask the school directly.
- Surrounding Area
- The UCSD campus is located 20km north of downtown San Diego, and offers a variety of recreational and cultural opportunities. The area is very safe and clean, and is considered one of the best neighborhoods in the region. As the campus is just 15 minutes away from the Pacific Ocean, marine sports are especially popular. Locally, the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, and the beaches of Torrey Pines and La Jolla draw many visitors. Mexico is only a half-hour away, and attractions such as Disneyland and Universal Studios are in nearby Los Angeles. The year-round Mediterranean climate is ideal for an active, healthy lifestyle to complement the rigors of UCSD's high academic standards.
- About the College/University
- Founded in 1959, UCSD is in one of the top research universities in the U.S. Located on the Pacific coastline on 1,200 acres of coastal woodland, UCSD is a meeting place for those seeking to discover and explore new ideas in education and research. There are several Nobel Prize recipients on the faculty, and many more faculty members are prominent figures in their fields. On average, there are 18,000 undergraduate and 3,000 graduate students attending UCSD each year. On campus students can make use of the excellent libraries, social, and sports facilities. Although there are several strong liberal arts departments, UCSD’s is most well-known for its important efforts in the fields of science and research.

12 of 14 people found the following review helpful.

6 of 7 people found the following review helpful.I love UCSD私はアメリカに留学する前、中国に留学していました。

14 of 16 people found the following review helpful.
