Please Read Carefully Before You Apply

  1. Your application will be sent directly to the school via email. Be sure to follow the instructions provided and complete the entire application process. In order to ensure the quickest reply, applicants are advised to send all questions DIRECTLY to the school admissions office.
  2. Some course options may have an application deadline. You are strongly advised to submit your application well before the course start date to ensure you have enough time to fulfill all requirements.
  3. Syracuse University (SU) requires you to pay a US$ 100 application fee. Please note that the school's application fee is NON-REFUNDABLE even if you cancel your application, do not receive your student visa, or are not accepted for admission.
  4. If you need to use the credit card of a family member or friend, be sure to receive permission ahead of time and inform them of the date and amount of the transaction.
  5. When submitting your application, prepare to send a copy of your passport, a copy of your bank letter or bank statement, a copy of any available English test scores that meet admissions requirements, and additional forms required. Please follow all instructions carefully in order to complete the enrollment process. You may be able to submit an application and send your supporting documents later in the process.
  6. You must obtain a student visa in order to legally study abroad and enroll in your chosen English program. When applying for your student visa, you will submit the required forms received from your school, and other documents, to the designated embassy or consulate. We encourage you to apply to your school well in advance of your start date, to give you sufficient time to have your student visa processed.
  7. For most programs, the application will be valid for one year. After one year, you must apply again.

 Bank Statement

Instructions:

A. A bank statement or bank letter. If the bank account is in a name other than the student’s, the account holder must sign the application form under FINANCIAL SOURCE. The bank statement can be no more than 6 months old and must show at least $17,000 for a full semester or $8,500 for one summer session.
B. A letter of sponsorship. A Financial Guarantee or Terms of Appointment from your sponsor (other than a family member).
