Welcome to the American Language Program (ALP) at California State University, East Bay! As Director of the ALP, I encourage you to learn more about our program on ApplyESL.com and discover why the ALP is an ideal place for you to be a student. Since 1973, the ALP has offered exceptional English instruction to students from all over the world looking to develop their language and academic skills for future success at an American university or for their personal goals. Students learning opportunities continue outside of the classroom through our Speaking Partners English conversational program, the Service Learning Project offering weekly volunteering positions in the local community, and the Fun Trips Program allowing students to explore interesting places in the surrounding San Francisco Bay Area. Students can discover the surrounding area on their own, using the convenient Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) public transportation system to experience the vibrant destinations of nearby San Francisco, Berkeley, San Jose, and the Silicon Valley.
