Founded in 1938, KAPLAN ASPECT is a group of prestigious private language schools that have helped millions of students from around the world significantly improve their English skills in the shortest time possible and prepare them for academic study at an American college or university. The Centers are located among thirteen of the best-known cities in North America - including Vancouver, Canada - in order to offer independent students exposure to different cross-cultural ideas in vibrant urban environments that will deepen their English communication skills and cultural understanding. For those students interested in studying at an American college or university, KAPLAN ASPECT operates three of its centers on college campuses and offers students full access to campus facilities including the library, sports facilities and the computer center. Learning from native speaking instructors, students study from well-developed curriculums designed to develop their fluency and hone their skills in the areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing, as well as pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar. To help students achieve their individual academic goals, KAPLAN ASPECT centers also offer a variety of workshops to complement students' coursework, including: Vocabulary Development, Speech and Pronunciation, Writing, Accent Reduction and TOEFL Skills Preparation. KAPLAN ASPECT is the educational subsidiary of the major newspaper company, The Washington Post, and a sister division of the major magazine, Newsweek. KAPLAN ASPECT is also a proud member of CAPLS, the Canadian Association of Private English Language Schools promoting professional standards and high-quality English programs.

| KAPLAN ASPECT provides students with the opportunity to enjoy a homestay experience. Homestays are an ideal option for those students who want to experience the local culture as a member of a family and practice their conversational English. Students are encouraged to make their housing arrangements as early as possible due to the limited amount of space available. Private off-campus apartments are also available; however students must make their own arrangements. For more information, use the Contact Address to ask the school directly. |

| The KAPLAN ASPECT Center is centrally located close to the heart of downtown Vancouver, British Columbia. Home to over 580,000 residents, Vancouver is famously regarded as Canada's most beloved city with its close proximity to the spectacular sea-to-sky mountains, its clear ocean views, as well as for its desirable climate, one of the mildest in Canada. Renowned for preserving its natural beauty within the city, Vancouver is home to one of North America's largest urban parks, Stanley Park, frequented by cyclists, runners and roller-bladers and home to Douglas-fir and Western Hemlock trees hundreds of years old. Voted the "Best City in the Americas" in 2004 by Cond Nast Traveler magazine, Vancouver is a dynamic, multicultural city with people from nations around the world filling the streets and speaking languages ranging from English and Chinese, Punjabi and German to Italian, Japanese and Spanish. As the Host City of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, Vancouver demonstrates itself to be large enough to offer world-class events yet still retain its charm, its safety and its warm hospitality. Sports enthusiasts have no problem in finding a team to cheer for in Vancouver, a city home to dedicated fans that are serious about their sports teams, including the British Columbia Lions (Canadian Football League), the much-beloved Vancouver Canucks (NHL hockey), the Vancouver Canadians (baseball) and the Vancouver Whitecaps (soccer). Nestled along the Coast Mountain Range, Vancouver is located a two-hour drive from the world-famous ski and snowboarding resort of Whistler/Blackcomb while the picturesque destinations of Vancouver Island, the Canadian Rockies, Victoria (British Columbia's capital city) and Seattle in the United States are all nearby and offer fantastic weekend getaways. |
