Founded in 1991, EC (formerly named European Centre of English Language Studies) is a group of private English language schools committed to providing the highest quality English language training experience. Originally known as one of the oldest private English language schools in Malta, EC has since grown rapidly over the past years and has established a high reputation for excellence in language training. Today, EC has schools located in fascinating English speaking destinations all around the world, in order to offer independent students exposure to different cross-cultural ideas in vibrant living environments that will deepen their English communication skills and cultural understanding.
Students enjoy small class sizes that ensure sufficient individual attention and the help that students need in order to achieve their goals. The school utilizes a structured curriculum, level tests, student tutorials and frequent homework tasks to support learning. Each of the EC schools is equipped with modern facilities such as wireless internet connections, a multimedia room where students can send emails, a library for study and a cafeteria where students can relax and meet other students. | The school provides students with the opportunity to live in off-campus residences or enjoy a homestay experience. For students who prefer an independent lifestyle, off-campus residences provide more privacy and offer opportunities to interact with people in the community outside the school environment. The school also arranges homestays for those students who want to experience local culture first-hand as a member of a family and practice their conversational English. Students are encouraged to make their housing arrangements as early as possible due to the limited amount of space available.
