Founded in 1965, Language Studies International (LSI) has one aim: to ensure their students receive the best language learning experience. Consisting of 17 private language schools, LSI centers are located in 9 countries and have helped thousands of students from around the world significantly improve their English skills in the shortest time possible. LSI centers are located among the best-known cities in the world in order to offer students exposure to different cross-cultural ideas in vibrant urban environments and deepen their English communication skills and cultural understanding. For students wanting to study at a college or university, LSI offers academic counseling to help students during the application process. Academic counselors advise students which undergraduate courses to choose from, as well as arrange visits to universities and assist in completing university applications. Learning from native speaking instructors trained to the highest standards, students study from well-developed curriculums designed to develop their fluency and hone their skills in the areas of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation, as well as speaking, listening, reading and writing. Additional classes focus on: film and theater, media studies, current events, politics and local culture. LSI is a proud member of AAIEP, the American Association of Intensive English Programs, and also a member of CAPLS, Canadian Association of Private Language Schools, promoting professional standards and high-quality English programs.

| LSI, New York provides students with the opportunity to live in an off-campus residence or enjoy a homestay experience. For students who prefer a more independent lifestyle, off-campus residences provide more privacy and offer opportunities to interact with people in the community outside the campus environment. LSI also arranges homestays for those students who want to experience the local culture first-hand as a member of a family and practice their conversational English. Students are encouraged to make their housing arrangements as early as possible due to the limited amount of space available. Private off-campus apartments may also available; however students must make their own arrangements. For more information, use the Contact Address to ask the school directly. |

| The LSI New York Center is situated on the Manhattan campus of the Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY). The center is ideally located in the trendy SoHo neighborhood, an area of New York City known for its trend-setting fashion, upscale boutiques and stylish restaurants and caf駸. As the most populous city in the United States, New York City is home to nearly 8.2 million people and to an unsurpassed collection of world-class museums, art galleries, international corporations, performance centers and world-famous media outlets. Called "The City that Never Sleeps," New York City lives up to its reputation for its fast-paced urban environment and its residents take pride in living amid the crowds, noise and the general hardships of city life. Regarded as the model of the American ideal of a "melting pot," New York City is home to a greater diversity of immigrant groups than any other American city. Centrally-located in the core of the "Big Apple," the center provides students with easy access to the Metro - the city's convenient public transportation system - to explore Manhattan's eclectic neighborhoods, whether to experience Chinatown's bustling streets, soak in the energy of Times Square or stroll through majestic Central Park. If you are looking for something to do outside of the city, there are plenty of exciting places to explore in the surrounding boroughs. Historic Yankee Stadium and the Bronx Zoo are popular destinations while many visit the Japanese Botanical Garden and Coney Island in Brooklyn or Shea Stadium - home to the New York Mets - in Queens. Regarded as the capital city of the world, New York City offers an education onto itself and provides endless opportunities to tap into its energy, enjoy its diversity and experience a city unlike any other. |

About the College/University |

| Founded in 1964, the Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY) is a unique institution of higher learning that is home to 1,700 ambitious students. With most MCNY students either working in full-time jobs or holding internships, the curriculum emphasizes putting class-work theory in to practice. Professors integrate classroom instruction directly with what their students require to apply to jobs and excel in the professional world. Many students opt to study in the MCNY accelerated programs to earn an Associate's degree in as quickly as 16 months, a Bachelor's degree in two years and eight months or a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) in one year. Students study among MCNY's three academic schools that offer superior, experientially-based education: the School for Business; the Audrey Cohen School for Human Services and Education; and School for Public Affairs and Administration. Within these three academic schools, popular academic specializations among students include: American and Urban Studies, history, economics, political science, a Master of Science in Childhood Education and an MBA in Media Management, the first of its kind in the United States. The Student Services Office is alive with a variety of activities designed to bring the college community together. In addition to participating in enriching educational activities outside of the classroom, students also have the option to join other types of social gatherings, including trips to television shows, tapings, luncheons and films. As MCNY is located in one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in New York City, students are within walking distance to hundreds of Manhattan hotspots and internship possibilities. |
