Founded in 1972, Embassy CES is a group of prestigious private language schools that produce successful and satisfied students. Over the past three decades, Embassy CES has helped more than half a million international students significantly improve their English skills and prepare them for academic study at a college or university. The Centers are located amongst 18 of the best-known cities in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand in order to offer students exposure to different cross-cultural ideas in vibrant urban environments that will deepen their English communication skills and cultural understanding. Many instructors are experienced specialists that are qualified to teach international students using a wealth of modern teaching techniques. The curriculum they instruct is dynamic and carefully planned where ideas are easier to grasp and practiced through classroom discussion and real-life situation simulations. Embassy CES operates under the experienced guidance of Study Group, a well-respected global leader in the field of international education and training. Spanning its presence in five continents, Study Group operates 18 teaching centers, 17 regional offices and 3 international admissions centers to solidify its global and local network. | Embassy CES provides students with the opportunity to live in on-campus apartments or enjoy a homestay experience. Students living on-campus will be close to classes, campus activities and other students - both American and international. Homestays are another living option for those students who want to experience the local culture as a member of a family and practice their conversational English. Students are encouraged to make their housing arrangements as early as possible due to the limited amount of space available. Private off-campus apartments are also available; however students must make their own arrangements. For more information, use the Contact Address to ask the school directly. |

| The Embassy CES Boston Center is situated on the Lasell College campus in the charming New England suburban city of Newton, Massachusetts. Ranked twice as "America's Safest City," Newton is home to 90,000 residents, as well as to six schools and colleges and two symphony orchestras, the New Philharmonia and the Newtown Symphony Orchestra. If it is an active urban experience you seek, Newton is a 30-minute train ride from the heart of downtown Boston. As the capital and largest city in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Boston is also one of the most historic cities in the United States. Boston was founded in 1630 by its Native American inhabitants and is now home to an estimated 570,000 Bostonians. Widely recognized as America's greatest college town, Boston is often called the "Athens of America" as it is dubbed the nation's educational capital home to more than 60 colleges and universities in the area, creating an atmosphere rich with artistic, social and intellectual opportunities. Many consider Boston a highly cultured city as it is home to such renowned performing arts groups as the Boston Ballet, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Pops, the Boston Lyric Opera Company and the Handel and Haydn Society, the oldest choral company in the United States. Sports enthusiasts do not have a problem in finding a team to cheer for in Boston, a city home to dedicated fans that are serious about their sports teams, including the Boston Celtics (NBA basketball), the New England Patriots (NFL football), the Boston Bruins (NHL hockey), the New England Revolution (soccer) and the historic, much beloved 2004 World Series champions, the Boston Red Sox. There are countless opportunities for Boston-area residents to enjoy easy weekend getaways along the East Coast, whether it is to go sightseeing in New York City, feast on lobster in Maine, hike New Hampshire's White Mountains or explore the beaches of Cape Cod. |

About the College/University |

| Founded in 1851, Lasell College is an independent, coeducational college regarded as one of the oldest institutions of higher learning in the Boston area. Home to more than 1,200 students - 8% of whom hail from 15 countries from around the world, Lasell offers a wide range of professionally-orientated undergraduate degree programs and a master of management degree with concentrations in elder care and marketing. Over 30 academic programs - ranging from athletic training and fashion design & production to international business and secondary education - are offered through Lasell's three academic colleges: the School of Arts and Sciences; the School of Allied Health and Sports Studies; and the School of Business and Information Science. The college's 50-acre campus is located 13 kilometers outside of Boston; its close proximity to such a cosmopolitan city affords students plenty of opportunities to accept hands-on internships with leading cultural, health care and business organizations. Outside of the classroom, Lasell students take an active role in developing new interests by joining one of the many student-run organizations located on-campus. Many are disc jockeys for the WCLR-Lasell College radio station, writers for The 1851 (the College newspaper) or the campus fashion magazine, members of the Performing Arts Council or organizers of annual College-wide events, including International Week, Diversity Week and the Commencement Ball. As a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III sports league, Lasell's athletic teams, "The Lasers," receive plenty of campus support. Lasell students, faculty and staff, as well as Newton residents, are always present to cheer on the men's and women's teams playing basketball, lacrosse, soccer, volleyball, softball and field hockey. |
