Founded in 1938, KAPLAN ASPECT is a group of prestigious private language schools that have helped millions of students from around the world significantly improve their English skills in the shortest time possible and prepare them for academic study at an American college or university. The Centers are located among thirteen of the best-known cities in North America - including Vancouver, Canada - in order to offer independent students exposure to different cross-cultural ideas in vibrant urban environments that will deepen their English communication skills and cultural understanding. For those students interested in studying at an American college or university, KAPLAN ASPECT operates three of its centers on college campuses and offers students full access to campus facilities including the library, sports facilities and the computer center. Learning from native speaking instructors, students study from well-developed curriculums designed to develop their fluency and hone their skills in the areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing, as well as pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar. To help students achieve their individual academic goals, KAPLAN ASPECT centers also offer a variety of workshops to complement students' coursework, including: Vocabulary Development, Speech and Pronunciation, Writing, Accent Reduction and TOEFL Skills Preparation. KAPLAN ASPECT is the educational subsidiary of the major newspaper company, The Washington Post, and a sister division of the major magazine, Newsweek. KAPLAN ASPECT is also a proud member of AAIEP, the American Association of Intensive English Programs promoting professional standards and high-quality English programs.

| KAPLAN ASPECT provides students with the opportunity to live in off-campus residences or enjoy a homestay experience. For students who prefer a more independent lifestyle, off-campus residences provide more privacy and offer opportunities to interact with people in the community outside the campus environment. These residences are conveniently located a short distance from the center. Homestays are also a living option for those students who want to experience the local culture as a member of a family and practice their conversational English. Students are encouraged to make their housing arrangements as early as possible due to the limited amount of space available. Private off-campus apartments are also available; however students must make their own arrangements. For more information, use the Contact Address to ask the school directly. |

| The KAPLAN ASPECT Center is centrally located in the heart of downtown Boston's historic and quaint Haymarket Area, the convening point for the city's Financial District, the North End and the Government Center. As the capital and largest city in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Boston is also one of the most historic cities to live in the United States. Nicknamed the "City on a Hill" or most famously "Beantown," Boston was founded in 1630 by its original Native American inhabitants and is now home to an estimated 570,000 Bostonians. Widely recognized as being America's greatest college town, Boston is often called the Athens of America as it is dubbed the nation's educational capital that houses more than 100 colleges and universities in the area, creating an atmosphere rich with artistic, social and intellectual opportunities. Many consider Boston a highly cultured city, perhaps due to its intellectual reputation, and is home to such renowned performing arts groups as the Boston Ballet, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Pops, the Boston Lyric Opera Company and the Handel and Haydn Society, the oldest choral company in the United States. Sports enthusiasts certainly do not have a problem in finding a team to cheer for in Boston, a city home to dedicated fans that are serious about their sports teams, including the Boston Celtics (NBA basketball), the New England Patriots (NFL football), the Boston Bruins (NHL hockey), the New England Revolution (soccer) and the historic, much beloved 2004 World Series champions, the Boston Red Sox. There are countless opportunities for Boston residents to enjoy easy weekend getaways along the East Coast, whether it is to go sightseeing in Providence or New York City, feast on lobster in Maine, hike New Hampshire's White Mountains or explore the magnificent beaches of Cape Cod. |
