Founded in 1938, KAPLAN ASPECT is a group of prestigious private language schools that have helped millions of students from around the world significantly improve their English skills in the shortest time possible and prepare them for academic study at an American college or university. The Centers are located among thirteen of the best-known cities in North America - including Vancouver, Canada - in order to offer independent students exposure to different cross-cultural ideas in vibrant urban environments that will deepen their English communication skills and cultural understanding. For those students interested in studying at an American college or university, KAPLAN ASPECT operates three of its centers on college campuses and offers students full access to campus facilities including the library, sports facilities and the computer center. Learning from native speaking instructors, students study from well-developed curriculums designed to develop their fluency and hone their skills in the areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing, as well as pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar. To help students achieve their individual academic goals, KAPLAN ASPECT centers also offer a variety of workshops to complement students' coursework, including: Vocabulary Development, Speech and Pronunciation, Writing, Accent Reduction and TOEFL Skills Preparation. KAPLAN ASPECT is the educational subsidiary of the major newspaper company, The Washington Post, and a sister division of the major magazine, Newsweek. KAPLAN ASPECT is also a proud member of AAIEP, the American Association of Intensive English Programs promoting professional standards and high-quality English programs.

| KAPLAN ASPECT provides students with the opportunity to enjoy a homestay experience. Homestays are an ideal option for those students who want to experience the local culture as a member of a family and practice their conversational English. Students are encouraged to make their housing arrangements as early as possible due to the limited amount of space available. | The KAPLAN ASPECT Center sits on the 100-acre sunny Irvine Valley College campus and is ideally located in the charming city of Irvine, home to over 170,000 residents and regarded as one of the cleanest and safest cities in Southern California. Located 3km inland from the Pacific Ocean and the pristine beaches of Newport Beach and Balboa Island, Irvine boasts a lovely Mediterranean climate year-round with average January temperatures hovering around 56ｰF while summer temperatures remain at a comfortable 71ｰF. During the winter months, nearby Bear Mountain offers Irvine residents and snow lovers with almost 1,700 vertical feet of terrain spanning four mountain peaks providing perfect runs to ski and snowboard to their hearts content. | First founded in 1979 as Saddleback College North Campus, Irvine Valley College (IVC) was later established in 1985 as a public two-year community college that currently is home to over 13,000 students and more than 100 full-time faculty members. Identified as one of California's leading community colleges and one of Orange County's best-known educational institutions, IVC offers students exceptional educational opportunities to earn Associate in Arts degrees in 38 majors, Associate in Science degrees in 30 majors and Occupational Certificates in 30 areas of specialization. With well-established transfer agreements and guaranteed admission programs in place with the University of California and California State University systems, IVC students have plenty of academic options to earn a four-year degree upon completion of their studies at Irvine Valley College. In addition to public institutions, IVC students have also transferred to various private colleges throughout California and the United States, helping IVC earn the distinction of having one of the highest transfer rates among Orange County's four community college districts.
