Certificate of English - Intensive
Certificate of English - Standard

The Program is offered year-round with sessions beginning every week. Students enrolled in the program receive 28 hours of classroom instruction per week. The Intensive program is the most popular course at Embassy CES and is ideal for those students who want to achieve maximum progress in their English skills with the time they have available.

The program is offered at 5 levels of instruction from beginner to advanced. Upon their arrival at the center, students' English abilities are tested in the areas of reading, writing, listening and speaking to guarantee their proper placement into an ability level. To ensure students' objectives are met, the program regularly assesses their progress and provides students with development reports. As proof of their improvement, students will be presented with the Embassy CES Certificate of English.

The program's rigorous curriculum is primarily designed to quickly improve students' ability to communicate in real-life situations by focusing on the integration of reading, writing, listening and speaking. The curriculum also concentrates on key areas needed for students to attain greater fluency - primarily being essential grammar, pronunciation, colloquial language, idioms and vocabulary. In addition to the core curriculum, students also choose from special elective classes to improve their fluency, gain qualifications, prepare for university or train for a future career. Elective classes may include such topics as: Pronunciation and Oral Fluency; Grammar Workshop; Idioms and Vocabulary; Communication and Culture; Writing Skills; and test preparation for such exams as Cambridge, TOEIC, TOEFL and IELTS. Outside of the classroom, students can independently participate in local year-round festivals held throughout the city, attend professional sports games or go sightseeing to explore some of the city's vibrant, eclectic neighborhoods.

Classroom sizes average 10 students per class with a maximum of 15 students. Every effort is made to keep classes at an ideal size for effective English language instruction.
