Intensive English Program APPLYAbout This CourseThe Intensive English Program offers three 14-week and three 6-week sessions throughout the academic year. Students enrolled in the Program receive 20-25 hours of in-class instruction each week.
The Program offers 5 levels of English classes, from beginning to advanced. At the beginning of the semester, new students are required to take an English proficiency test to help determine the level best-suited to their ability.
The Program's courses follow an academic and skills-based curriculum, integrating the essential skills of listening and speaking, reading and written communication into one complete program of study. In addition to attending their core classes, students also have the opportunity to receive instruction on specialized topics based upon their own interests, such as English for Business or Current Events. The integration of all these important language skills helps students prepare for study at an American university. Students compliment their in-class instruction by making use of the Media Center, a fully digital, audiovisual computer laboratory featuring current software designed to enhance students' oral communication skills. A second computer lab is available to students for independent study and class work in written communication.
Class sizes generally range from 12 to 14 students per class. Every effort is made to keep classes at an ideal size for effective English language instruction.Course DataCLASS SIZE: 12 -14 students CLASS LEVELS: 5 levels COURSE LENGTH: 6,14 weeks MINIMUM AGE: 18 years old REQUIREMENT: N/A VISA INFORMATION: I-20 issued upon request HOUSING: Dormitory/On-Campus Apartment Dates20126 WEEKS: 2/23 - 4/20 6/21 - 8/10 14 WEEKS: 5/8 - 8/10 FeesAPPLICATION FEE US$ 100TUITION FEE (2012) 6 WEEKS US$ 3,200 14 WEEKS US$ 5,700 HOUSING
