- El Programa Intensivo inglés (IEP) de la Universidad de Miami, lleva impartiendo clases de inglés a la comunidad internacional desde 1951. El IEP ha sido reconocido oficialmente por la alta calidad de su enseñanza y por sus instalaciones educativas cuando se hizo miembro de la UCIEP en 1967, y miembro de la AAIEP en 1988. Durante más de 65 años la misión del IEP ha sido preparar a la comunidad estudiantil internacional para entrar en una universidad americana, impartiendo para ello clases de inglés y directrices académicas. El plan de estudios del IEP combina los conocimientos necesarios de comprensión auditiva, expresión oral, lectura, y escritura en un programa completo de estudio. Los miembros del profesorado crean un ambiente de estudio positivo y académico donde animan a los estudiantes a participar en las actividades que ayudan a entender la lengua inglesa. El IEP también proporciona la ayuda necesaria a sus estudiantes internacionales en el proceso de adaptación a la vida universitaria y a la cultura Americana. Además de mejorar sus conocimientos de inglés, el IEP facilita el entendimiento intercultural entre todos sus estudiantes.

For over 65 years, our Intensive English Program has offered outstanding English language instruction to the international community. The IEP curriculum is designed to provide our students with the academic abilities, language skills and confidence essential to succeed in an American university. - Alojamiento
- La opción de residir en los dormitorios del campus tan sólo se ofrece en el semestre de verano. Los estudiantes que escogen esta opción estarán cerca de las clases, instalaciones y del resto del alumnado norteamericano e internacional. Los estudiantes son responsables de realizar los planes de alojamiento si deciden residir fuera del campus o van a asistir al programa en los semestres de primavera o invierno. IEP proporciona información acerca de otras opciones de alojamiento pero los estudiantes tienen que hacer las gestiones necesarias por sí mismos. Para más información usa la dirección de contacto.

- Los estudiantes del IEP experimentarán directamente la manera de vida de Florida. El clima subtropical, con temperaturas medias anuales de 20 grados Celsius, es ideal para realizar actividades recreativas al aire libre. El IEP está situado en el campus de Coral Gables, un campus de 260 acres que pertenece a la Universidad de Miami. La ciudad de Coral Gables es conocida por ser una bonita zona residencial y comercial y por su diseño y arquitectura mediterránea. La Universidad de Miami, se encuentra a tan sólo siete millas de la dinámica vida cultural, social, y corporativa de Miami. Las atracciones locales de Coconut Grove, la animada South Beach y Cayo Biscayne, se pueden visitar utilizando tanto el autobús como el tren y los puedes coger directamente desde la Universidad. Otra atracción turística famosa en el mundo entero es el Disneyworld de Orlando, los cayos del Oeste y los de Florida, situados a tan sólo dos horas en coche.

- La Universidad de Miami es institución privada, coeducativa de enseñanza superior. Es una de las universidades politécnicas y de investigación más importantes del Sureste de los estados Unidos. El número de alumnados es de 14,000 estudiantes, incluyendo a los aproximadamente 1,500 estudiantes internacionales, que representan a más de 110 países. La Universidad cuenta con más de 2,000 profesores a jornada completa y una proporción de estudiantes-profesorado de 13 alumnos por cada profesor. Con 13 Escuelas y Facultades, la Universidad de Miami imparte clases casi en cada rama del conocimiento humano, con 130 campos de estudio tanto en carreras medias como superiores. La Universidad tiene cuatro campus en el Sur Florida; La Facultad de Medicina en el Centro administrativo de la Miami, el campus de Coral Gables, el de Rosesntiel en el cayo de Biscayne y el campus del Sur. La Universidad es miembro activo de la Asociación de Colegios Universitarios y Escuelas del Sur del país y está totalmente acreditada en los Estados Unidos.

Programa Intensivo de Ingles (Intensive English Program)
- Resumen
- El Programa Intensivo ingles es un curso de 14 semanas de duracion y se imparte de 20 a 25 horas de clases por semana.
El Programa de Ingles intensivo ofrece 5 niveles de ensenanza y los alumnos deberan realizar una prueba escrita y oral para asi poder determinar el curso al que deben matricularse y que tendra lugar a comienzos del semestre.
Las asignaturas estan basadas en desarrollar los conocimientos del ingles, enfocandose para ello en la comunicacion. Se impartiran clases de manera general, pero cada una de ellas enfocadas en desarrollar una asignatura en particular, como son: la expresion escrita, lectura, conversacion, comunicacion escrita y comunicacion oral. Ademas de las clases, habra oportunidad de asistir a asignaturas optativas en temas concretos basados en tus propias preferencias, tal como Ingles de Negocios o Sucesos Actuales.
El numero de alumnos por clase es de 12 a 14. Se ha realizado un gran esfuerzo para hacer que las clases tengan un tamano ideal para el eficaz aprendizaje del idioma. - Información

- Desde el Aeropuerto Internacional de Miami:
Es responsabilidad del alumno organizar el transporte desde el aeropuerto al campus. Hay taxis disponibles en el aeropuerto que te costarán aproximadamente US$20 y llegarán al campus en 20 minutos. In addition, Miami buildings have fantastic architectural style, and its streets are wide, clean and beautiful. It's also an international city; you will find different people from many countries that makes Miami more interesting. Finally, the most important factor is the availability of many universities led by the University of Miami, who is a pioneer university worldwide. It ranks high in the world's universities ranking. In addition, it has a gorgeous campus and provides excellent services to students. Certainly, its English Language Institute (IEP) has proven to have a high level of teaching English. And from my experience it is the right place for foreign students to master English language.

After that, I visited UM, and I asked 5 people about the IPE. I didn't know them, but all of them told me the IEP is very good and you will improve fast.
