Studying for a Year ???

I want to study in the USA for a year, but don’t know if I can afford to study for that long. Can I still go and what do you advise?

Dear Josefina,

Thank you for your question!

Students often want to study for long periods initially and then re-evaluate once they arrive in country. For this and other reasons, we strongly recommend that students only commit to a program that they can afford and makes sense depending on your long-term goals. If you are unsure whether you can stay abroad for a long time, consider applying for a shorter program and then extending your study once that program is completed. As long as you are paid up and in-status (attending all of your classes) you should be able to extend your program for as long as your visa is valid.
