What is school accreditation?

I noticed that some schools are accredited. What does it mean and what sort of accreditation is good for English programs?

Dear Luis,

Thank you for your question!

All of the schools listed at ApplyESL.com are accredited either by the university they are associated with, a local accrediting agency, or well-recognized accrediting bodies such as CEA and ACCET. For students, accreditation should be an important factor in evaluating a school because it means the school has been evaluated by a process which determines common standards of good programs. In short, accreditation means that the school is doing their best to make sure that their programs are of a high-quality and dependable.
