Study Abroad Too Expensive?

Study abroad is kind of expensive for me and I don’t know if I can afford living in the US after paying my tuition and housing. Can I get a job while studying? Thanks, Ana

Dear Ana,

Study abroad can be a big commitment, both in time and money. That is why it is important to understand all of the various costs and benefits to you. Keep in mind that after you apply, your school will ask you to provide proof that you will be able to afford your entire study abroad experience. Student visas are strict in what they allow students to do outside of class. Generally speaking, you will not have time to look for a job and your visa may restrict you from doing this. Make sure you commit to only what you can afford.
